WELCOME
Join us in Nouakchott  in December 2025 for this edition of the International Days of Chemistry (JIC 2025). JICs are unique international chemistry meetings organized by the Mauritanian Chemical Society that address current and emerging topics at the forefront of the chemical sciences.
This meeting is for established and early-career scientists, postgraduate students and  researchers working on various aspects of chemistry. It will provide an ideal forum for cross-fertilisation of ideas and understanding between the distinct but adjacent communities working in this exciting field.
This year's edition will particularly focus on the public outreach of chemical sciences and their impacts on our life style and development. Topics related to the promotion of chemistry and its applications, as well as their applications in daily life and socio-economic contexts, will be extensively and methodically addressed.
The scientific committee is pleased to strongly encourage presentations in English.

PROGRAM
All activities of the 5th International Days  of Chemistry (JIC 2025) will take place at the Hotel Nouakchott in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Check-in and distribution of documents will be on Thursday, 4 December 2025 at 08:30. Closing ceremony and check-out will take place on Saturday, 6 December 2025 at around 13:00.
The JIC2025 programme will include:
• plenary lectures (30 - 40 minutes)
• oral presentations (15 minutes)
• poster sessions.
The JIC2025 programme will be available to download shortly in the “Downloads” section of this page.
ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION

A collection of abstracts from plenary lectures, oral presentations and posters will be distributed to participants at the Fourth International Chemistry Days (JIC 2023). Authors are requested to submit their abstracts, including text, figures, diagrams and references, according to the following guidelines:

  • Top margin: 2.5 cm
  • Side margins: 2.2 cm on each side
  • Bottom margin: 1.5 cm
  • Font for the entire document: Times New Roman
  • Title: 10 pt, centred, bold, line spacing 1
  • Authors' names (size 9, centred, line spacing 1), with the name of the presenting author underlined
  • Authors' affiliations (8 pt, centred, italic, line spacing 1)
  • Text (9 pt, justified, line spacing 1)

Poster Presentation
Posters should be 1.20 m high and 0.90 m wide. Poster abstracts will be numbered in the final programme. The number of poster sessions will depend on the number of papers accepted. Authors must be present next to their posters during the sessions.
Publication in the SCM journal
The Mauritanian Chemical Society will publish the papers presented at JIC 2025 in an issue of its journal : Journal de la Société Chimique de Mauritanie (Journal of the Mauritanian Chemical Society). Authors presenting papers at JIC 2025 who wish to publish their work in this issue are requested to submit their work in the form of an article in either french or english by 31 December 2025. Further submission details will be posted shortly on the SCM website.
REGISTRATIONS
The registration fees cover access to scientific sessions, coffee breaks and lunches during all event dates.
